Recap: Simon Tech Huskies vs. Animo Watts Warriors
The Simon Tech Huskies were the 76-27 winner over the Animo Watts Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. Simon Tech was beaten by Animo Watts 74-40 on Thursday. Simon Tech has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Simon Tech's loss came despite strong showings from Karlos Hodgson and Shane Hicks. Hodgson scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds, while Hicks scored 10 points. Hodgson scored a full 37.5% of Simon Tech's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Animo Watts' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johntae Forshae, who scored 14 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. Jahari Fisher was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 4 steals.
Simon Tech now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Animo Watts, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simon Tech will take on Animo Venice at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Animo Watts, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
