Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clay County). They took down the Clarkrange Buffaloes 84-69 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 64-51 back in January.

Clarkrange lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Braxton Sears, who posted 12 points in addition to eight assists and seven rebounds. That's the most assists Sears has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Noah Gunter, who earned 14 points.

The win made it two in a row for Clay County and bumps their season record up to 8-4. As for Clarkrange, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clay County has already played their next matchup (against Gordonsville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Clarkrange will be playing in front of their home fans against Pickett County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pickett County will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Clarkrange surely won't give up without a fight.
