Volleyball Recap: Berrien Springs' Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Berrien Springs had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Dowagiac Chieftains. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 last Thursday.

Berrien Springs easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18.

Kathryn Bergan paced Berrien Springs' offense, picking up nine kills. Bergan got some help from Vivienne Kittleson and her 15 assists. Bergan also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Zion Ellis, each putting up three.

Berrien Springs now has a winning record of 17-16-4. As for Dowagiac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-18-4.

Coincidentally, Berrien Springs and Dowagiac will both be playing Lakeshore the next time they take the court. The Shamrocks will host the Lancers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Chieftains will play them later in the day, at 9:00 p.m.
