Softball Recap: Haven's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Saturday just wasn't the day for Haven's offense. They fell 5-0 to Burlington on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, Haven's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Avery Brawner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Haven saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Faidley, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Haven fell to 2-1. As for Burlington, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Haven wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 16-1 win against Smoky Valley on the 1st. As for Burlington, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wellsville at 4:30 p.m. on the 8th.
