Maynard had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt West Boylston on Friday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions  a   9-0 shutout. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Max Mandler made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Mandler was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Max Cedeno was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Will Molloy, who  went 2-for-3 with three  runs and one  triple.
 Maynard was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .414. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
The  win  got Maynard back to even at 2-2. As for West Boylston, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maynard will host Clinton  at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for West Boylston, they will challenge Gardner at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
