Basketball Game Preview: Canyon Cowboys vs. Valencia Vikings

The Canyon Cowboys are taking a road trip to face off against the Valencia Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Canyon can't be too worried about heading out to take on Valencia: they just beat Golden Valley at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Canyon came out on top against Golden Valley by a score of 63-54 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cowboys as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Valencia was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 67-62 to West Ranch.

Valencia's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.

Canyon was able to grind out a solid victory over Valencia in their previous matchup on January 7th, winning 75-66. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canyon since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
