Softball Game Preview: Summerville Green Wave vs. Carolina Forest Panthers

Summerville is on a 29-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Carolina Forest is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Green Wave will welcome the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Summerville 0.8, Carolina Forest 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Tuesday, Summerville got the win against Ashley Ridge by a conclusive 12-1. Considering the Green Wave have won 19 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Carolina Forest won against Loris on Thursday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Cane Bay 4-3.

Kaysen Warehime spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sienna Levy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Pellerin, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Carolina Forest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Summerville, their win bumped their record up to 27-0.
