Basketball Recap: Empowering Others Prep Comes Up Short

Empowering Others Prep was the 61-47 winner over Marian when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Empowering Others Prep Kings and the Marian Eagles didn't end well, with the Empowering Others Prep Kings falling 81-66. While losing is never fun, the Kings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Eagles are ranked 147th).

Marian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mathias Baye, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. The match was Baye's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Seydina Gadiaga, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Empowering Others Prep now has a losing record of 19-20. As for Marian, their victory bumped their record up to 22-9.

Empowering Others Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 87-57 defeat against Xavier Educational Academy on the 22nd. Marian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
