Softball Recap: Dayton Comes Up Short

Dayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 7-1 to the Damonte Ranch Mustangs.

Bradlie Stevens was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Damonte Ranch, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Coming up, Dayton will head out on the road to take on Churchill County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dayton's pitchers better be ready for this one: Churchill County has averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. As for Damonte Ranch, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Reed at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Reed will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Damonte Ranch surely won't give up without a fight.
