Volleyball Recap: Kerr-Vance Academy Takes a Loss

Kerr-Vance Academy lost against Oxford Prep last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Griffins. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since August 28, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Kerr-Vance Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Oxford Prep work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 26-24, 25-22.

Marie Scott White paced Kerr-Vance Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. White got some help from Emma Caudle and her 13 assists. White was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Kerr-Vance Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Oxford Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Kerr-Vance Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Pungo Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Oxford Prep, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Wake Prep Academy on the 29th.
