Basketball Recap: Wiggins Falls Despite Big Games from Jackson Adams and Grady Wilson

Wiggins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 73-65 to the Frontier Academy Wolverines. Even though they lost, the Tigers' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Grady Wilson and Jackson Adams certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Wilson dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards, while Adams en route to 20 points and five rebounds. Wilson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryce Kays, who posted six points.

Even though they lost, Wiggins smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Leading Frontier Academy to victory were Lucas Carmichael and Jackson Belt. Carmichael on his way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Belt to rack up 17 points. What's more, Belt also posted a 58% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Brady Shepherd was another key player, putting up nine points.

Wiggins' loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Frontier Academy, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Wiggins didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-57 defeat against Wray on the 13th. As for Frontier Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 63-25 loss against Windsor Charter Academy on the 12th.
