Basketball Game Preview: Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles vs. William Penn Colonials

Hodgson Vo-Tech is 8-2 against William Penn since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles will venture away from home to take on the William Penn Colonials at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Hodgson Vo-Tech faced off against Sussex Tech on Saturday. Hodgson Vo-Tech received a blow as they fell 56-39 to Sussex Tech. The Eagles were up 17-2 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Hodgson Vo-Tech had strong showings from Sanaa Saunders Young, who posted 15 points and six rebounds, and Hope Smith, who had nine points. Saunders Young has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Meanwhile, William Penn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Early College and fell 68-38.

William Penn's record now sits at 4-10. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Hodgson Vo-Tech strolled past William Penn in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 70-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hodgson Vo-Tech since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
