Volleyball Recap: Chrisman Extends Winning Streak to Three

After losing to Summit Christian Academy the last time they met, Chrisman decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bears narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since September 6th.

Rubi Mathis paced Chrisman's offense, picking up seven kills. Mathis got some help from Jazelle David and her 16 assists. Bailey Foster controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Charlee Pollard and Rilyn Richards-Hamburg certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Pollard had 15 kills and six digs, while Richards-Hamburg had 21 assists and six digs. Pollard is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last four games she's played. Ashlynn Brown was another key player, getting nine digs and five assists.

The victory (which was Chrisman's third in a row) raised their record to 11-13-1. As for Summit Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-2 record this season.

Chrisman has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Oak Park on the 27th. As for Summit Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Pembroke Hill on the 30th.
