Basketball Recap: Manheim Central Comes Up Short

Manheim Central was the 55-43 winner over Cocalico when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Manheim Central Barons were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 59-58 to the Cocalico Eagles. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Barons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Eagles are ranked 332nd).

Manheim Central has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-5 record this season. Cocalico's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.

Manheim Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cocalico, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles challenge the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lower Dauphin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
