Basketball Game Preview: Countryside Cougars vs. Southeast Seminoles

The Countryside Cougars will square off against the Southeast Seminoles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Countryside is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Countryside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They secured a 47-43 W over St. Petersburg.

Meanwhile, Southeast was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 62-57 to East Bay.

Countryside will have to contain Keith Potter as he made an impact in Southeast's last game. He dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Potter is becoming a predictor of Southeast's success: when he posts at least eight rebounds the team is 11-5 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). Landon Hornes was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Countryside, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Countryside came up short against Southeast when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 78-74. Can Countryside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
