Corey Flinchum commands the offense for a Wolves win

Recap: Wolfe County Wolves vs. Magoffin County Hornets
Even though the Magoffin County Hornets scored an imposing 68 points on Friday, the Wolfe County Wolves still came out on top. Wolfe County strolled past Magoffin County with points to spare, taking the game 82-68. The win was all the more spectacular given Wolfe County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Magoffin County is ranked 40th).
Wolfe County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Corey Flinchum out in front who scored 26 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jayden Hollon, who scored 22 points.
Wolfe County now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Magoffin County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Wolfe County and Russell will face off at 4:45 p.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Russell's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Magoffin County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Estill County at 3:00 p.m. on December 30th. Estill County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Magoffin County likes a good challenge.
