Soccer Game Preview: Lake Ridge vs. Keller

The Lake Ridge Eagles will face off against the Keller Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.

Lake Ridge is headed into the match having not lost since February 7 and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Boswell a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Pioneers are ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kyleigh Pete and Rylee Ceraul scored both of Lake Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Meanwhile, Keller hasn't lost a match since January 3rd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They put the hurt on V.R. Eaton with a sharp 4-0 victory. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by three goals or more this season.

Lake Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those eight matchups. Keller's win bumped their record up to 12-1-6.

Lake Ridge might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Keller in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Lake Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
