Softball Recap: Sandwich Indians vs. Woodstock Blue Streaks
Sandwich's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 14-9 win over the Woodstock Blue Streaks. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Blue Streaks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Abigail Johnson and Kendal Petre were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Johnson pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. Meanwhile, Petre pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Johnson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Johnson went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Petre went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave Johnson a new career-high.

In other batting news, Coraline Stevens was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karlie Hardekopf, who went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Sandwich kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Sandwich's record is now 14-11. As for Woodstock, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
