Baseball Game Preview: Southern Boone Eagles vs. Moberly Spartans

Southern Boone has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Moberly has won five straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. Southern Boone will welcome Moberly at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Southern Boone 4, Moberly 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Southern Boone had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Macon put an end to it on Wednesday. Southern Boone fell just short of Macon by a score of 2-1. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Moberly never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Fayette. Fans of the Spartans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Moberly's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Southern Boone, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Southern Boone was able to grind out a solid victory over Moberly in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. Does Southern Boone have another victory up their sleeve, or will Moberly turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
