Batavia and Eastridge are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Batavia Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Eastridge Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Batavia has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 21.

Batavia is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Churchville-Chili on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Batavia was beaten by Churchville-Chili 54-20. The Blue Devils were down 43-14 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Eastridge was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 57-53 to Canandaigua Academy. The loss continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Braves: they've now lost nine in a row.

Eastridge's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Batavia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-18.

Batavia suffered a grim 59-34 defeat to Eastridge when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Batavia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
