Baseball Recap: Catskill Cats vs. Coxsackie-Athens Indians

Catskill extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-7. They lost 17-9 to the Coxsackie-Athens Indians. The Cats were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Cam Newkirk made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season. Sawyer Bulich was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

As for Coxsackie-Athens, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
