Basketball Game Preview: South Columbus Stallions vs. West Columbus Vikings

The South Columbus Stallions will venture away from home to take on the West Columbus Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South Columbus is headed into Tuesday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of East Columbus. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Stallions came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Gators are ranked 519th).

Meanwhile, West Columbus lost to Whiteville on the road by a 63-45 margin on Friday.

South Columbus' loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for West Columbus, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

South Columbus was able to grind out a solid win over West Columbus when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 48-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Columbus since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
