Basketball Recap: O'neill Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

O'Neill won the last time they faced Wayne, and Hannah Hilker did her part to make sure it happened again. The O'Neill Eagles walked away with a 48-40 victory over the Wayne Blue Devils on Saturday thanks in part to Hilker, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 17 points and four steals. Hilker is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Bergyn Classen, who posted ten points. Those ten points gave her a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Wayne lost, don't look at Haley Kramer. Despite the final result, she had 16 points. Another player making a difference was Alexis Legler, who posted nine points.

The win made it two in a row for O'Neill and bumps their season record up to 3-4. As for Wayne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

O'Neill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-38 victory against St. Paul on the 27th. As for Wayne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-32 win against Winnebago on the 27th.
