Baseball Recap: Hill Country Christian Comes Up Short

Hill Country Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 6-2 to the St. Paul Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 9-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

GARY DAILEY spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered six earned runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Hill Country Christian is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Hill Country Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ALEX Alvarado, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Hill Country Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for St. Paul, they moved to 3-10 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

While Hill Country Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
