Basketball Game Preview: Timber Creek Wolves vs. Spruce Creek Hawks

Having just played yesterday, the Timber Creek Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Spruce Creek Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Timber Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Spruce Creek likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Timber Creek blew past Horizon, posting a 64-36 victory. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Spruce Creek suffered their closest loss since December 19, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of New Smyrna Beach by a score of 55-52. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Barracudas are ranked 14th).

Spruce Creek now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Timber Creek, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Timber Creek strolled past Spruce Creek when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 58-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Timber Creek since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
