Section 6 B - West recap Oct. 16, 2012
Cheektowaga extended the longest winning streak in Section 6 B - West this week by beating Maryvale, 16-8. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Warriors.
Burgard took down Amherst Central 47-17 last week, the largest margin of any game. Sean Marshal ran for 133 yards and caught two passes for 32 yards in the win.
The Tigers' dynamic duo of Justin Twarog and Tadriek Johnson proved tough for the Bulldogs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Twarog threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns and Johnson had 144 yards receiving. Dion Lewis helped Amherst Central's passing attack out by catching three balls for 51 yards.
On the ground, the Flyers' Mike Wawrzyniak has rushed for 854 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Marshal. The Burgard star has 27 catches for 533 yards.
Burgard led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on Amherst Central. Marshal in the win.
