Basketball Recap: Warren County Comes Up Short

Warren County lost against Brentsville District back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warren County Wildcats were outmatched by the Brentsville District Tigers and fell 50-16. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Brentsville District was led to victory by Brooke Lynn Miller and Payton Brown. Miller posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals, while Brown had 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Marvin, who put up eight points and five steals.

Warren County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Brentsville District, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Warren County will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Brentsville District will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Hylton at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
