Softball Recap: Delran Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Delran and Burlington Township, and Burlington Township kept the tradition alive. The Bears fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 9-8 on Wednesday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Danielle Gorman and Olivia Stroemel did some serious damage despite the final result: Gorman scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Stroemel scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Elaina Faux, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI.

Delran dropped their record down to 7-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Burlington Township, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Delran will head out to take on Rancocas Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Burlington Township, they will welcome Shawnee at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
