Softball Game Preview: Swanville Bulldogs vs. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder

The Swanville Bulldogs will face off against the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Swanville has 11 straight victories, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Swanville will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Royalton, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 14-7 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle lost 11-1 to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Thunder have lost by exactly ten runs.

Swanville's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
