Softball Recap: Beal City Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Victory

Beal City had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the McBain Ramblers. The result was nothing new for the Aggies, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Emma Block was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Macy Johnston was a standout: she fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madason Fisher, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Beal City pushed their record up to 23-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for McBain, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Beal City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Ramblers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
