Baseball Game Preview: Linn-Mar Lions vs. Jefferson Hawks

The Linn-Mar Lions will take on the Jefferson Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Linn-Mar will be strutting in after a victory while Jefferson will be coming in after a loss.

It was a proper cat-fight when Linn-Mar challenged Western Dubuque on Friday. The Lions came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 5-1.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They lost 11-0 to Iowa City.

Linn-Mar has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-20.

Linn-Mar took their victory against Jefferson when the teams last played back in July of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
