The Frankford Pioneers will take on the Sankofa Freedom Academy Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Frankford took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Olney 60-58. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pioneers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Frankford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Doron Ross, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Ross a new career-high in assists (five). Brandon Gage was another key player, putting up 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Frankford was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Sankofa Freedom Academy hadn't done well against Constitution recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Sankofa Freedom Academy skirted past Constitution 47-44.
Frankford better keep an eye on Asim Hardy. He was instrumental in Sankofa Freedom Academy's win, earning 13 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Nafis Dubose, who posted ten points and six boards.
Sankofa Freedom Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Frankford, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Frankford has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Sankofa Freedom Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Frankford didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sankofa Freedom Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 47-42 win. Will Frankford repeat their success, or does Sankofa Freedom Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
