Basketball Recap: Lafayette's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

There's no place like home for LaFayette, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Ridgeland Panthers by a score of 64-55 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Ramblers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Ridgeland saw an underclassman step up: freshman TJ Foster went 10 for 22 on his way to 27 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 49.1% of Ridgeland's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jamarcus Lewis, who scored 12 points and four steals.

LaFayette's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Ridgeland, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

LaFayette will host Calhoun at 4:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Ridgeland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 86-83 defeat against Gilmer on the 21st.
