Baseball Game Preview: Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix vs. Seffner Christian Crusaders

The Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix will head out to challenge the Seffner Christian Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with 13 straight defeats, while Seffner Christian will come in with three straight wins.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Garcia a new career-high in hits.

Meanwhile, while Seffner Christian put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Brandon. Everything went Seffner Christian's way against Brandon as Seffner Christian made off with a 7-0 victory.

Seffner Christian also got a great performance from Ryder Stephens as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Stephens also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Seffner Christian is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Kris Colondres was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jenuel Ortiz, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Seffner Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Seffner Christian, their record now sits at 5-6.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate couldn't quite get it done against Seffner Christian when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
