Basketball Recap: Trinidad Comes Up Short

Trinidad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Custer County Bobcats. The Miners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Trinidad still got an impressive performance from Jerome Schultz, who posted 14 points. Those 14 points gave Schultz a new career-high. Isaiah Moreno was another key player, putting up eight points.

Trinidad's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Custer County, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Trinidad wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-33 victory against South Park on the 8th. As for Custer County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-46 win against Crested Butte on the 8th.
