Baseball Game Preview: Fairfield Central Griffins vs. Buford Yellow Jackets

The Fairfield Central Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Buford Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfield Central has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 10.

Fairfield Central came up short against Batesburg-Leesville on Tuesday, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, Buford came up short against Liberty on Tuesday and fell 8-5.

Buford got a good showing from Noah Crump, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. What's more, Crump gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Hunter Mills was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Fairfield Central's record now sits at 7-17. As for Buford, their record is now 15-10.

Fairfield Central might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Buford when the teams last played back in April of 2015. Can the Griffins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
