After a string of three wins, Groesbeck's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Westwood Panthers by a score of 6-5. The Goats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 17-3.

Nick Sanchez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

Groesbeck's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-1. As for Westwood, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-15 record.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Groesbeck is set to square off against their familiar foe Mexia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Westwood will face off against rival Teague at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
