Basketball Recap: Big Pine Warriors vs. Baker Braves
After flying high against Owens Valley last Tuesday, Big Pine came back down to earth. The Big Pine Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 40-39 to the Baker Braves. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Braves from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.
When it comes to explaining why Big Pine lost, don't look at NOAH ERICSON. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points and five steals. ERICSON is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. CHANCE DIXON was another key player, putting up five points and 13 boards.
It was another big night for Anthony Ortiz, who went 7 of 10 en route to 17 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals for Baker. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ortiz has scored at least a third of Baker's points. Another player making a difference was Alex Amador, who put up two points and 12 boards.

With the loss, Big Pine broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3. As for Baker, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
