Softball Game Preview: Olympia Titans vs. Lake Brantley Patriots

Olympia is 0-9 against Lake Brantley since March of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Titans will challenge the Patriots at 6:30 p.m.

Olympia is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against East Ridge on Tuesday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 10-1.

Sasha Do was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Lake Brantley entered their tilt with Cornerstone Charter Academy on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Ducks with a sharp 12-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lake Brantley got a massive performance out of Auriana Turner, who scored four runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, Turner posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Rylin Sprague, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.

Lake Brantley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Lake Brantley's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Olympia, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Olympia suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Lake Brantley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
