Volleyball Recap: Grayson Takes a Loss

Grayson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Archer Tigers. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Grayson started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-15, 15-10.

Dior Williamson paced Grayson's offense, picking up 11 kills. Williamson got some help from Sydney Pitts and her 21 assists. Nadia Zeric controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Grayson's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 23-10. As for Archer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season.

Grayson will square off against Ola at 5:00 p.m. on October 2. Archer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
