Softball Recap: Cherokee's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cherokee walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots a 6-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Cherokee and bumps their season record up to 7-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Piedmont Community Charter, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5.

As of now, neither Cherokee nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
