Softball Recap: Bishop Guilfoyle Comes Up Short

Bishop Guilfoyle extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They came up short against the Penn Cambria Panthers, falling 15-0. The shutout was out of character for the Marauders seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

As for Penn Cambria, their record is now 4-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the game before.

For Penn Cambria's part, Sophia Rabatin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rabatin has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Marley Shaffer was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Logan Krug was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Guilfoyle will venture away from home to challenge Huntingdon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bearcats' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Marauders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Penn Cambria, they will head out on the road to square off against Bishop McCort at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
