            Softball Recap: North Jackson Chiefs vs. New Hope Indians        
        
		
        
        
            North Jackson and New Hope squared off in some playoff action  on Monday, but North Jackson had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of  3-1. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Chiefs in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.
 Darcy McClendon spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
 At the plate, North Jackson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kayleigh Greenway, who  went 1-for-3 with one  RBI.
North Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 12-20. As for New Hope, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-27-2 record  this season.
 North Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Hope, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  match,  a  4-3  loss against Plainview on the 28th.
