Basketball Recap: South Platte Skates Past Arthur County with Ease

South Platte won the last time they faced Arthur County and things went their way on Friday too. The South Platte Blue Knights took their game with ease, bagging a 66-36 win over the Arthur County Wolves. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Platte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Jacobs, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 16 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Jacobs a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Quinten Koenen, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards.

South Platte smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Arthur County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kegan Allen, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Dakota Penner also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

South Platte's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Arthur County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

South Platte has already played their next game, a 67-40 defeat against Paxton on the 8th. As for Arthur County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-26 win against Sioux County on the 13th.
