Baseball Recap: Estancia Find Success

Estancia came out on top against Westminster on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Eagles skirted past the Lions 7-6. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 6-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sawyer Atkinson was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jacob Ramirez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Estancia has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Westminster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10-1 record this season.

Estancia has already played their next contest, a 6-5 defeat against Segerstrom on the 23rd. As for Westminster, they will face off against Garden Grove at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Argonauts' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
