Baseball Game Preview: Sycamore Aviators vs. Indian Hill Braves

The Sycamore Aviators will face off against the Indian Hill Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sycamore has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Indian Hill will come in with nine straight wins.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Sycamore and Mason had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Aviators lost 8-1 to the Comets on Friday.

Meanwhile, Indian Hill earned a 10-6 victory over Mariemont on Monday.

Devlan Daniel made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Daniel wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Simon Gall, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Luke Egnaczyk was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Indian Hill hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive games.

Indian Hill's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Sycamore, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Sycamore couldn't quite get it done against Indian Hill in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 as they fell 7-3. Can the Aviators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
