Baseball Recap: Scotts Hill's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Scotts Hill's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Riverside Panthers 10-1. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cy Maness made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Silas Howard, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Chandler Crider was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Scotts Hill's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11-1. As for Riverside, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-7.

Scotts Hill will have a chance to go back-to-back against Riverside: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
