While Bronson's win against Hawthorne wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bronson Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawthorne Hornets on Monday, sneaking past 4-2. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Zach McClelland was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
McClelland wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was T Petrykowski, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Bronson picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Hawthorne, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Looking ahead, Bronson will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Saint Francis Catholic at 7:00 p.m. As for Hawthorne, they will venture away from home to square off against Peniel Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
