Recap: Winston Academy Patriots vs. Bowling Green Buccaneers
The Winston Academy Patriots and the Bowling Green Buccaneers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Winston Academy Patriots had to settle for second. Winston Academy had to suffer through a rough 42-13 loss at the hands of Bowling Green. Winston Academy's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Winston Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Omar Scott. Despite the final result, he rushed for 210 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry. Scott has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last eight times he's played.
Winston Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Bowling Green, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Winston Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bowling Green will take on Tri-County Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Tri-County Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
