Toledo waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Powers Cruisers as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Boomers, who have now won four matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Kealey Coxen made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shaylee Barnhart, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Gracee Retherford was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Toledo's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Powers, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Toledo will venture away from home to take on Waldport at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Boomers are facing the Irish at the right time seeing as the Irish are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Powers, they will head out on the road to square off against Elkton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Elks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.5 runs per game on average), something the Cruisers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
